Royal Oaks

No New Posts Hwy 44
No posts have been made on this board.

Just north of town lies Highway 44, the only stretch of freeway that connects Royal Oaks to the rest of the world. It is a small, two-lane highway that also connects to the roads leading towards the Tupelo National Forest. Cars can still be found littering the road, as well as hordes of walkers traveling from city to city.

No New Posts Westview Apartments
No posts have been made on this board.

The Westview apartments were the biggest, nicest looking apartments in all of Royal Oaks. They were built just two years before the virus hit and are still in relatively good condition. The lot consists of several large apartment buildings, as well as two laundry facilities and a pool. The entire place is gated, except for the entrance. The apartments have a wide variety of living spaces, but are regularly flowing with walkers.

No New Posts The Town Center
No posts have been made on this board.

Despite it's name, the Town Center is actually east of the school, or the center of town. The buildings within it are all on top of a large hill that look down on Royal Oaks. The Town Center includes the public library, police station, courthouse, and fire department.

No New Posts Lakewood Medical Center
No posts have been made on this board.

Right on the outskirts of town, just off of Lakewood Dr., is the Lakewood Medical Center. One of the first buildings ever built in Royal Oaks, the hospital is extremely old and deteriorating. However, most of the medical supplies and equipment are new and work rather well. The hospital was hardly touched during the outbreak and many of the supplies are still available. While the place is pretty much a gold mine, it is covered with a constant flow of walkers and is extremely dangerous to enter.

Located on the west side of town, the Royal Oaks Grand Station was the busiest port in the town. The train brought in all of the goods and supplies, as well as travelers to the town. Due to the abandonment of the town, the station is deserted, except for the occasional walker or traveler.

No New Posts Lost River Cave
No posts have been made on this board.

Near the West Rim, about a hundred feet down the canyon lie several caves that tunnel into the rock. It is cool and dark within the caves, making is a desirable home to many. A small stream runs out of the mountain and tunnels down into the river through this cave. Walkers are not common in the canyon, as many fall to their deaths, so it is not a wonder why the desert canyon is very popular.

At the foot of the canyon flows the Rio Verde that is both treacherous and peaceful, depending on its spot in the canyon. It is very lush and green along the edges of the river, and provides excellent hunting and fishing grounds.

No New Posts Ranger Station
No posts have been made on this board.

Deep in the forest lies the Ranger Station, a huge and sprawling building that was also a research center for many of the plants and wildlife of the Tupelo National Forest. With three stories and over 20 rooms, the ranger station is both a potential home and danger to those who encounter it. No one knows who may be lurking in the many shadows.
